Ammonia or KH poisoning Symptoms; ammonia poisoning; clamped fins, white or blackish marks
If you believe your fish has been poisoned by ammonia, perform small and frequent water changes to reduce toxin levels. If a test kit is available, reduce ammonia levels to 2. ppm and convert the remaining amount  using water treatment

If you’re using Amquel or Prime, treat with a single dose for every 1. ppm of ammonia
do not exceed triple dosage

If you’re using Amquel or Amquel Plus, treat with a single dose for every 2. ppm of ammonia
Do not exceed double dosage

Ammonia is the first toxin to form in the nitrogen cycle, created by the waste our fish produce

If you are certain ammonia levels haven’t exceeded zero, test KH. Carbonate mineral also burns fish, causing similar symptoms

Bad Bacteria infection Symptoms; missing scales and shredded fins, ulcers
Aloe encourages growth of scales and tissue, as well as discouraging the growth of harmful bacteria, but it take more than a treatment to change the ecosystem. Bad bacteria prefer warm water that is low in oxygen, but freshwater fish prefer the opposite conditions
